5 Habits That Gave Me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Reviews on Fiverr as a Freelancer.

I have been working 🧑🏽‍💻 as a freelancer for over 9+ years now, here are my top pics 🔥 of the habits that I can genuinely attribute to a bunch of 5-star reviews I have accumulated.
I am sharing what has worked for me so that, you can learn and adopt them if they relate to you.

🤝 #1 ExcellentCommunicationSkills
The reason I am starting with this is because this habit helped me transition from a freelancer to a full-time remote developer. My first employer, Mark, highlighted its importance when I moved from part-time to full-time.

🔍 #2 ProblemSolvingSkills
Working on dozens of projects honed my problem-solving skills and sharpened my coding ability. Now, I can solve complex problems in minutes. 😂.

🧑🏽‍💻 #3 ProvidingMoreValueThanPaidFor
I believe this gave me an edge with buyers, showing I value their projects beyond money. I don't see any other way to convey this other than by providing more value than they pay for.

🎯#4 MeetingDeadlines
People will praise you for delivering in 3 days what you promised in 7, but they'll be upset if you deliver in 2 days what you promised in 1. My secret weapon was to always ask for double the time I needed.

🕵🏼‍♂️ #5 Professionalism
I honestly strived to make sure that every one of my buyers walked away saying, “I was working with a professional. A developer who truly understands his field”. This became possible because I made it my habit to read the documentation of the language/framework I was working with.

Bonus Points
I know I said 5 habits but I promise you, I will not rest easy if I pause my tale here, So let me bestow upon you two more bonus points

📖 #6 ContinuousLearning
This helped me work with many projects although I primarily focused on PHP. Because I strived to understand the basic principles that are similar in many technologies, I managed to adapt to tech stacks that were very new to me easily. I think this also gave me a broad perspective when picking the right solution for a specific problem.

🙏 #7 RequestingFeedback
Well, as the Bible says, “Ask and you shall receive”. One positive thing about requesting feedback is that It shows to your clients that you value their opinions and are committed to improve your services. So, What I usually did was, after delivering the project/fix/feature to the customer, I requested that they leave a review for the service that they have received.

Now that we have reached the end of my story, If you are a freelancer please let me know what habit(s) you can attribute your success to in the comments below so that I can learn from you as well. A wise man once said, “100 hours spent programming alone can be equal to 1 hour when spent with a professional”
